Several Ways to Obtain New Green card

There was several ways to obtain new Green card. Not all ways are easy to obtain green card, there are certain requirement.

• Winning a lottery program.
• Family-Based Green Card.
• Employment-Based Green Card.
• Refugee Status or Asylum may apply for a Green Card.

For winning an lottery, your country should qualify to participate in the DV lottery program. If your native country doesn't qualify, you can use your wife native country and participate in the lottery program. Every October 5th to November 3rd each year they will give out almost 55,000 green card. Out of it 5,000 are allocated for use under NACARA. And only 110,000 of the application are accepted every year. Main Country like India, China, United Kingdom, Canada, Philippine, South Korea, and many more countries can't participate in the DV lottery program.

As education requirement should be high school diploma or the equivalent or 2 years of work experience.

Family based Green card is another way to obtain Green card(only immediate relatives) can be in the petition or sponsorship. The US Citizen can petition for Spouse, Mother or Father, Brother or Sister, Son or Daughter.

The restriction in the Lawful permanent Residence, while petitioning for family member only to Parents or Children, they can't have parents or siblings. The other fact which is to be kept in mind is the supporting the family, once who petition for family based permanent residence or adjustment of the status, one should have enough income to support the relative with almost 125% above the poverty line.

The other method, is via employment sponsor for Green card, this is done via Labor certification to test whether any US Citizen is qualified who can do the same job offered to the foreign applicant. The processing time takes lots of time.

The Refugee and Asylum can obtain Green Card, the main criteria in this category the applicant who holding Refugee status must have resided in US for more than 1 year.
